About Christopher Sylvie
Christopher Sylvie is an actor, director, model, and theatre artist based in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Northwestern State University of Louisiana where he earned his BS in Theatre with a concentration in Performance and Directing. There he studied acting techniques such as Michael Chekhov and Viewpoints. In addition to acting, Chris has also studied directing, dialects, stage combat, modern dance, ballet, improvisation, classical works such as Shakespeare, Ibsen, and Chekhov, as well as various aspects of technical theatre.
After graduation he worked regionally for various theatres across the United States, bouncing between both onstage and backstage roles. His experience in professional theatre includes being an actor, director, stage manager, properties master, dance captain, scenic painter, box office, and house management. After three years of working regionally, Chris decided to make Chicago his artistic home. While in Chicago Chris has been fortunate to collaborate with several theatre companies, while exploring other artistic venues such as film, voice-over, and modeling.
He is a member of The Alliance of Latinx Theatre Artists of Chicago and is currently enrolled in the EMC program as an Equity Membership Candidate. Highly passionate about his work, Chris values working as an ensemble and telling compelling stories.
